I knew we were kindred spirits! I umpired youth league baseball [age groups with too many parents still in the stands] for eleven years. Even got my sons involved, and they made good money for a while. First season my older son umpired, I asked him, did he want to work with me, or did he want to work with some of his friends? It went like this:
"I dunno, Dad; are you going to throw me under the bus if I make a mistake?"
"Jamie, you're all I got out there. It's you and me 'against' them. Both teams!"
"Oh, right. Sure; I'll work with you."
You think it's fun watching or even coaching your son/daughter. Try umpiring with them. Absolutely the best of times with my sons. One is still working every summer. Loves it.

I guess it was fifteen or so years ago now, my dad was umpiring a game in which my brother and his two sons were playing - the boys would have been early and mid teens. Youngest son was bowling, ball strikes the batsman on the pads and up goes the shout that no batsman EVER wants to hear - "Howzat Grandpa............!"

I absolutely fell in LOVE with North Idaho riding when we lived in Coeur d' Alene! Literally, 10 minutes driveway to single track like you pictured. For 2 years, my ride of choice was a '72 CT2. I miss both CDA & that CT2, but we will be back in CDA at some point in the future.

That was leftover still valid tags after we moved there in 2014. It got an Idaho plate when that one expired. No line at DMV, walk in and someone says "may I help you?"

Lake Alta in North Central Washington. Hard to tell from the photos, but a forest fire went through there in 2014. Fishing, swimming, waterskiing, kayaking, paddle boarding. There’s even a golf course nearby for those who don’t have enough frustrations in life. Not much off-road riding nearby, but some scenic road riding can be found.
