You could take off the little bleed screw and wait for gravity to do its work. However, what I do to speed things along is to use a syringe - pop the end into the hole where the screw sits and pull the oil through. A "Brucey Bonus" of doing it this way is that you can put the oil that you suck through back into the tank.

This is the size I use.

Thanks im more wondering about after the pump to the intake (the rx has the oil pump orifice on the carb flange not on the cylinder)

with my ag175 (ct175) there is a bleed wheel and I undo the cylinder connection and turn the bleed wheel until it comes out the cylinder from memory.

maybe I am misremembering. It’s been a long time. I’ll gravity bleed the pump and maybe inject some oil into the oil delivery line and run 50:1 until I’m satisfied it’s working. Will check pump stroke before first startup as I’ve just rebuilt the engine.

Later models had no bleed wheel.  Yamaha process can be found in later manuals...  basically gravity bleed and then run the engine at about 2,000 rpm for about 2 minutes while pulling the cable wire at the pump to hold the pump at max stroke.

I tend to run premix if it's a new build or has been sitting or something.  No need to drain premix before switching to pump, many old timers run both premix and pump as a precaution.

If it's a bike I just had the pump off for some reason, I don't worry about premix.  I just make sure to pull and hold the pump cable at max stroke which seem to deliver oil very quickly
