Look at the diagram, #6 is unscrewed, with the collar removed you can knock out the seal( #11), with a punch or screw driver. This is the same design as my little YG5T.
I believe this is correct.

Thanks Mothersbaugh...but isn't pounding it out the equivalent of using the puller? One is a push and one is a pull?

And by the way, I love all these responses. I was afraid I wouldn't get any. You guys are great and I'm sure I will post a ton more questions as I go along! Thank you!

mdscott...I tried what you suggested when I first took everything apart, but the seal didn't budge. I think I just needed a little more patience because I just went out there and pounded on it some more and it came out. I am thrilled. I love overcoming these obstacles that I have had along the way. It is really what is making this so fun. It's not routine, the are all the successes along the way!

And mothersbaugh, I get what you mean about ruining the tube now. I made sure I had the end on a soft piece of wood while hitting it.

I'm on to my next question. What is the protocol around here. Should I ask it in another rhread?

I was just thinking of one other difference pounding it out this time. The first time I was hitting a screwdriver into the seal. This time I used a socket.

You asked for it, you got it!

The frame (primered)
The engine (completely apart)
The forks I'm working on
And all the rest in a tote
