I keep blowing bulbs at high revs and sometimes low revs and I can't get the lights to come on steady (i.e. getting brighter when revving} I have looked and looked and cannot find a regulator anywhere on this bike or on the manuals. Someone help please!

Your wish is our command! See link below regarding retro fitting of 6v voltage regulators.

Partzilla shows the 1976 DT175C as the first one to have a voltage regulator fitted as standard, hence Yamaha's own bulletin that I posted the link for. :likey

My 1975 DT 175 has a voltage regulator. It's under the tank in front of the flasher.

I take that back it is a rectifier.

The Rectifier ( diode) is actually above the flasher with the red and white wires. It is not a part of the head light wiring.

..........and shouldn't be confused with the voltage regulator that you are enquiring about.
