guessing MX400B. Found a similar question just by googling & guy said his was 87mm i think which is 400 plus 1mm oversize. That'll make a quick DT if you squeezed some extra compression out of it--well-- plus pipe & carb & reed block & [where was i lol] Cheers if i'm right--never mind if i'm wrong. Someone will know for sure.

Quite right, 400's are 85mm std not 86mm [senior moment-again]. Think my yz490 is 87mm without looking.

Its on 85mm. [standard bore] porting is more aggressive than my DT400 Jug & that inlet is massive compared to the DT jug, Mx400 then .
they are the same height , [ left barrel in picky is sunk into cushion, ].

Sorry.....its not an MX400, its a 75-76 DT400B/C (as Enduronut mentioned). The ports are more aggressive on the 75-76 DT400 B/C compared to the 77-78 DT400 D/E (likely due to EPA cracking down in the later years). The 75 MX400B has even more radial porting. I hope it helps.

Good call " :likey ,, funny that, I had the twinskhock in 1979. and then the Monoshock in1980, and the 400b would wheelie no problem, The 400d never,[ even in 1st gear] I just thought the 400d was worn out,[ 3rd owner by then ]

Why did Yamaha down tune the Monoshocks? ,
