The way I was taught to check the adjustment was to have the cable adjusted to move the wheel on the pump as the RPM's increased.

Yes it all works in in unison--is that a word-- throttle lifts slide & pump cable pulls cable wheel & as it all gets further around the pump goes in & out more. I like the suzuki ones where ya can't see anything except cable adjusting so don't loose sleep over it & never fail. I'll have to go wash my mouth out after saying that lol.

unlike in your picture the adjusting plate cover is like a washer, my adjusting plate cover that is on top of the adjusting plate was hiding what I needed to see. So once I removed it I understood what was supposed to happen. Thanks for posting the picture to the thread as you can now see the parts everything is talking about.
