Well, the good news is that I have the oil pump, which seems to be intact. I don't have the oil tank, or the cable that links the pump to the throttle. I have found listings for the oil tank, but is there a source for the throttle/oil pump cable? I couldn't seem to find the split cable for sale anywhere. I guess I don't understand what compels people to rip random parts off of these bikes and lose them...

Quick update-
Months later and now on the other side of the state, I have finally gotten it to run! Thanks everyone for their help. It's still a long long ways from being remotely done but I at least got to hear it fire up.

Welcome back & thanks for the update.
Hope we see more of you & pics sometime of your bike.
It's probably been said before but photos need to come via something like "imgur" or similar.
I guess its the price the site pays for popularity causing things like direct photo posting not to work.
Not a biggy & easy to do it the imgur way etc.

Yes, I would love to see some pix of your journey as I think I am not too far behind you now. I would like to ask if there is any potential risk of damage running these magneto and points engines without the battery?

Thanks RT325! I think I will start a new topic to keep track of how this project goes, it will be a long project.
And Reed Valve Richards,
I do not think there's any harm in running them without the battery. As far as I can figure, the ignition system on these bikes is entirely isolated from the battery. More like an old lawn mower ignition system, I think. Not a perfect analogy but sort of the same idea.

Battery is used as a rudimentary "voltage regulator"...  guaranteed you will blow the bulbs on earlier models if you run without the battery.

Models with voltage regulator "might" be okay.

Electricity is as strange to me as the stray cats that venture into my garden, it seems to go all over the place whenever it wants to.
