Great story - think things were much simpler / more fun all those years ago.
Having said that, any time I get a leg over a bike I try and make it fun - that's what it all about.

I always thought the 400 was the best balanced of the lot. I had a Peacock Grey '70 H1 in college that I rode from Maine to Colorado in '72. Still had all my teeth in place when I got there!

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow.
Reminds me of Parting the Red Sea..
Not a huge fan of Yamaha Enduro’s Later than 1973 but I still do bikes up to 1976 - 1979 as long as they are single cylinder.
I was asked about working on a Honda 550 and I quickly declined. For the reason of synchronizing, all the carburetors and attaching all of the carburetor linkage it’s just not for me.
If you’re okay with a Kawasaki Triple keeping the carburetors clean periodically and have a lot of courage, that Rocket Ship should be a fun project?
I do assume that after you’ve tasted the craziness of Triples and Quads you’ll be back here - welcomed with open Piston Ports for Sure…
