Picture Attachment problem (09 Jul 2022)
Due to the extraordinary growth of the membership and resources, we are once again bumping up against hosting limits. I am working on a fix. In the meantime, the forum should function, but you won’t be able to attach images. Working as fast s we can to fix. Thanks for your patience. - Makotosun

1975 ct1-dt175 clutch problem was created by davewuf
new to this, has the title states, when i tighten the nut on the clutch drum it locks with the basket,i’ve looked in the haynes manual and it says i should have a plain washer, bearing washer and another plain washer, which i am missing one plain washer, but even with the plain washer missing it’s like i don’t have enough room at the end of the shaft to put the locking tab on to safely engage with the splines, any help would greatly be appreciated.

On the CT1 there are a couple of thrust washers that go onto the clutch assembly first #18 and 19, often the back one slips down on assembly and stops the collar #17 seating fully on.

Best thing to do is to try and find an original parts list for your bike - fleabay is good for this, although you might find you end up buying one from mainland Europe. An original Yamaha service manual is a good investment as well.
