Used a sewing needle wd40 & contact spray . I don't have a compressor

Exhaust is ok &I've not oiled the filter .. revs fine now carb just needs tweaking

Might be just me but you say pilot jet pickup in the float bowl but do you mean the choke jet which is non removable down the cavity in the bowl. Easy to clean though but is a small hole. Clean under it too from side on where fuel goes under.

It's cast into the float bowl I thought it fed the pilot jet.

Only feeds the choke so will make no difference to running except to richen on closed or relatively closed throttle for starting. If you left the choke open, providing that jet isn't blocked it'll sort of richen above idle to I dunno maybe 1/3 throttle but if you say took it to full song or any revs then closed the throttle it will drown rich when you bring throttle up again until it clears. Damn it I do go on. Bottom line choke is only for cold starting & throttle needs be closed for it to suck from your "now blocked bowl jet". In saying that, if jet is blocked then opening the choke only makes a bad situation worse as only opens an airway which then leans off pretty much everything. Something like that haha.
