Wow. My boss [now 90] used to Rally a Mk1 Escort with a BDA twin cam motor in it. I'm talking from memory of a lifetime ago but can remenber it idling & clattering away from straight cut gears or sequential gearbox? i dunno maybe wrong there but man did that thing turn on. Came to him via Australia with a single cam 2 liter ford in it but the other motor & stuff arrived later as part of the deal. Had been a Hanu Mikolas car i believe.

Sorry for mucking up this post with car stuff--couldn't help myself. Copied the info from my bosses page & some of it might even be true haha. I know he damn near ran the shop out of money playing rally cars [Yamaha shop].

Great stories guys. We currently have a BDA in the workshop. Such an awesome car. The fun to be had from such a small engine. Great noise and goes like a rocket. We recently did one of the FEV cars. One of Ford's own rally cars. Based on the Lotus twin cam. The photo shows FEV in the background and BEV in front. That was an ex Jean Todt car that competed in the Monte Carlo rally.
