It is evidently not the wiring diagram I was looking at either as it shows the pilot running off the signal circuit already.

TOPIC: ARE YOUR TURN SIGNALS NOT BLINKING? MAYBE YOU NEED A WINKER??

This is a post I submitted a while back- look under 1975 DT400 for the solution if it is the same original 3 wire blinker on your bike.

If it moves and shouldn't , use duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use liquid wrench.

was wondering if anyone has ever came across this issue:
got a 1974 DT175 previous owner removed the turn signals and flasher used it more of a dirt bike I replaced the signals and picked up a OEM flasher used pn#FN637L when I installed the flasher and turn on a blinker the flasher buzzes  like a horn but does not blink the turn signals indicator   light seems dim compaired to nutral and bright headlight indicators in the tach the turn lights themselves are very bright but just stay on with the flasher relay buzzing.
this is a 6volt sys I replaced all the bulbs with new ones verifying they were 6 volt the battery is new also checked the charging sys it is working perfectly

Perhaps a left handed question... Can you swap the wires around on the "winker can" to be sure it isn't a one way only hook up?
