Fuel Tank "locating damper" location was created by spudmanDT250
Just a quick question. Can anybody tell me where part #8 (Locating Damper) in the attached diagram is located on a '75 DT250? I've had the tank off the frame a few times now, so I know the part is not there, but I'd like to know where exactly it goes if I decide to pick one up. It certainly looks like it would be some sort of rubber mount for the tank, but I don't see where it would "fit" based on its shape. Thanks!

Right at the very bottom of the frame "spine". The main harness goes through it.
I'll post a photo shortly.
Edit - photo attached.

You will probably see wear marks on your frame right where that damper used to be. The photo below is my DT250B and you can't miss the witness marks worn right thru the paint.

Get a damper... or start planning for welding the rear tank mount and/or seam.

That's exactly what I was thinking, MarkT. Time to be a bit proactive.
