Well, i'll stick my neck out & say--you 'should' be ok. Basing it on both bikes being magneto as both diagrams look magneto not cdi. Yamaha keep their important wiring colors the same on all magneto models from what i recall, although may be a variation in charging wires from the mag depending!!. Lighting will be yellow. Ignition will be black. Indicators dark green & dark brown left & right-not sure if left or right, but! Anyway, keyboard has gone flat batteries--indecipherable if i left what i typed haha.

Yes, wiring should not be an issue....  earliest diagrams were extremely "generic"...  Yamaha was very consistent with wire colors and functions.

If there is anything you have a question about, post a pic and description and someone will likely have the answer.

P.S.  One trap is on many magneto models there is an extra black wire out of the main harness that goes to the stator...  it is a test wire for setting the points.  Do not connect to ground or you'll never get spark.

Yes 'a point--there's mag black for spark from the stator & loom black for earth of everything that needs earthing to the frame including battery earth. Confusing them yamahas haha.

I think I’ve found a Wiring Harness, just wanted to get someone to take a quick look over it in case I end up making a costly mistake. I am looking for a simple “Plug & Play” option (Going to follow the parts mentioned in a parts list). I’ve posted two pictures of the wire & socket coming out of my Magneto; it appears it would fit perfectly, I don’t think I can go wrong with that, but perhaps I might be missing something with the colour coded wires.

See a similar plug on the new harness but can't see the colors so impossible to say if it's a match or if that plug is a magneto plug.

Yamaha wire color codes tend to be fairly standard...  pics of plug ends don't mean much...  the wire colors going to the plugs should ID what that plug connects to.

Your original wires do look like standard magneto wires...  the greens are day and night battery charging so the harness should be for a bike with a headlight on/off switch...  yellow is headlight circuit...  black is ignition (points) wire  ...  and Sb (sky blue) is for the neutral switch.

That little pigtail coming out of the DT175c harness in your parts diagrams is likely the wire that bypasses the diode in the points wire I described.

Parts diagrams are not always that accurate.  But again, a magneto harness from about the same year should work..  100 is very similar but frame is a bit smaller so keep that in mind.

And if you know what bike you are buying the harness for, you might check to see if the various switches and components are available.  If not, you can almost always adapt something from a similar bike but then it's not plug and play anymore.  If starting from scratch I'd also pick one that came with a voltage regulator.
