Digging up an old post here........ I need to figure out how to get my bike quieter to keep my neighbors / wife happy. (I don't want to, but I need to.... BIG difference)

Anyone ever use something like the FMF 2 stroke silencer repacking material?

I use silencer packing on my 75 DT250. I noticed it was a little bit quieter.

CT3?  There's really nothing to "pack".  Make sure both the inserts in the outlet are present.

Oh, and if you're not using the stock airbox, open filters commonly found on CT's are LOUD.  Intake noise can sometimes drown out the exhaust sound!

That’s a fact MarkT! For any of you with the old snowmobiles with the carb facing right toward you, you’d know. The ones I grew up around, the skidoo 12-3 and such… In fact, if you wore loose clothes, it would sometimes get sucked into the carb horn!
