There's a part of me that would like to think you'd have US forces engineers doing it!!

I'm pretty sure places like Japan, UK, Australia, the handlebars were on the right.
Thanks Mark

Ah, the old ones are the best!
Headlight beam, of course, did point the other way!

Hi, great thread about bike spec 'differences' across the world. The one factor that stands out in this discussion comes back to what MarkT said earlier, "it's difficult to say ALL bikes of a certain nationality had exactly xyz specification". I'm wondering if like many automotive manufacturers, Yamaha when they come to the end of a particular bikes model run, they still have parts bins on the assembly line that need to be 'emptied', so surely there's sometimes going to be minor variations crossing over from one model to another. A classic example is take a DT1 and any mono-shock DT. A stock DT1 will always have a wheel hugging front fender and the mono-shock will always have the high front fender bolted to the underside of the triple-tree. O.k. fairly obvious but now look at brochures of all the many models in between these two examples and you'll see high and low fenders alike. By the way I have a stock UK 1975 DT250B and the speedo only has MPH. I like originality, even if it means 'an uglier' bike, referring to the horrible UK spec rear tail light arrangement. Aarrgh what an eyesore when compared to the much neater US models. So this is a long shot but in order for me to maintain originality does anyone across the world..!! have the small UK bracket that sits BETWEEN the rear fender (mudguard) and the flat plate that holds my number plate/tail light? Thanks for reading.

And of course Europe and the US got the crossover RD125 and RD200 in 1976, with the round tank, but front disc brake!
Do you have a diagram of the part that you need, or the part number?
Thanks.
Alan
