Time To Let My 1983 IT490 Go was created by Biknflyfisher
Hi Friends:
I have a 1983 IT490K that I have owned since 1991 and it’s time to let her go. I attended the Cal Dreaming events in 2015 and 2016 at Hungry Valley, and again (I think) in 2018 so if you’re a Cali person you would have seen me there
on the bike.
I last rode the bike in 2018 over at Hollister Hills and it’s been in the garage since then and needs to go to a good home. The last time ridden, she ran as strong as ever and I’m sure with fresh gas/oil and a few hard kicks she’d fire right up.
The bike has the normal scratches one would expect for a dirt bike, and the rear shock is in need of a rebuild. All plastic is original factory issue, as is the pipe, the head and cylinder. If you look WAY back on this site to 2015, I chronicled a cosmetic refresh of the bike on this site so you can see pics and comments on the bike between me and many members that were active here back then.
As this model is such a unicorn now, I’m looking for a minimum of $2500 for sale of this machine.
I have the pink slip, the owners manual, and also a race tuning manual for this bike (I never raced it).
If interested in talking about it, drop me a PM and let’s discuss the possibilities.
I still ride, but this machine with so much power makes me want to do crazy things that I just don’t need to do any more….if you know, you know….
Cheers,
Brian the biknflyfisher

I have not been able to search the old posts. I can only go back to 2023. Any chance you can post the pics again?
