Clutch Bearing Removal was created by Camp3

Hello, I have a need to replace this clutch bearing #24 on the diagram. If you look at the pic, is is bottomed in the case. How does one "grab" this bearing for removal. I am removing the bearings to have the cases vapor honed and the bearings needed to be removed for that process. Some may say, well its only the clutch shaft bearing it doesn't get a huge rotational load, I need to remove it because somebody let the cases stay in a heated oven too long and now that bearing is "crunchy"with what seems to be baked in junk. I could have blocked it off with some tape to protect it from the vapor process but I think I need to remove it now...

That one is a b*tch to get out. Blind bearing puller is your best bet but like you stated there is not a lot of purchase area on the bottom of the bearing. Blind bearing puller snugged up TIGHT! And hammer away. You run the risk if scaring the aluminum inner case area so be careful. Honestly if you can clean out the bearing of the crud and use it as is, recommended.

I used an inexpensive automotive transmission pilot bearing puller.

I think I got mine out with a dremmel and small screwdriver set and pliers. Combination of those should get you there if you are careful and knowing that the bearing does not have to come out intact.
