1974 dt250 was created by malcoops
So the previous owners of my 1974 dt250 removed the charge circuit for the bike and they relied on the battery for brake lights. It was not ridden at night and that year model had no blinkers
I'm wanting to get the bike back to spec so firstly its whether I have a wiring harness
Then in which direction do I go?
And I will be putting blinkers on here as well
cheers

Re indicators, they will have come as standard fitments to your bike. Private message (pm) nutt on the thread for which I have attached a link below and see if he will sell you the "sunflower" ones which your bike would have been fitted with.
I don't know how badly your harness has been chopped, but I think that DEET might make new ones and so you could email him (details on the same thread).

I'm in the UK and I'm guessing your US. I've seen a number of posts here indicating that, by the 1974 models, indicators/flashers were a legal requirement over there.
Happy to be corrected though!

USA federal law required turn signals on street legal motorcycles manufactured and sold here on or after Jan 1, 1973.
An individual state might have required them sooner... and many bikes came with them as standard or optional equipment sooner.
Other countries might have had different requirements... from what I've read here on the forum, Japan required turn signals several years before the USA.

I see from another post that you are in Australia. I could make a cheap shot (but won't!) about Aussies being backward, but I'd be surprised if they weren't a legal requirement there at that time. Saying that, I am often surprised!
Come on England!
