Yes, please keep us in the loop when you install the 12vdc system! I like it for the fact it adjusts ignition timing as you stated. I'd bet bike will run better with timing control! Not to mention a whole lot better selection of headlight outputs available as well.

i built a 7.2v battery out of rechargable nicad aa s and it works great
my mag is putting 8.4v you can run 7.4v to 11v constant nicads are ok
now i use 7.2v in all my 6v systems plus blinkers work better

Thanks Sagetree good advice.
I installed the 12v system and it runs really well, good bright lights too and a gel battery. Have only ridden about 30 miles so far, early indications are the bike goes like the clappers and revs out no problem once its properly warmed up in about 3 or 4 miles.
