I plan to pursue the same decompression modifications that you mentioned. I’ve located the HD compression release valve and the required adapter. But where do I get the head gasket that is 2.5 x thicker?

Thanks Mark!
That gasket is only .042” thick. I thought the thicker gasket was more like .125” thick. Do I stack 3 of them? lol

Never mind Mark. I just found the old thread and it mentions spraying both sides and stacking them! I never imagined that would be an OK thing to do.

When you contact them ask for the thicker gasket that is 2.5 times the thickness of stock. The '74 360 is different from the '70-'73. In the website picture it shows the '70-'73 gasket. I contacted him years ago and he needed to buy a certain amount of the thick copper blank. I had him make me 12 gaskets so it was more cost effective. I can spare one, send me a PM if you're interested.

Caution on stacking the stock gaskets, they are soft and flexible. Might blow out.

Yes, don't stack. They make different thicknesses.

Man I am enjoying my new RT3. No complaints at all. Today I just kept heading north on gravel roads and found some really cool routes that I will now make part of my early morning rides. The best roads are the ones that follow rivers because they aren’t your typical boring grid pattern roads. I passed enough dairy farms that my garage now carries a cattle aroma….. I even had to stop for a train crossing. I was the only one on the road and could have easily went around the gates, but I chose to take a break and watch the train go by. It was a beautiful day.

I LOVE THIS RT3
Today I rode almost 80 miles on the backroads heading north from my house. It was a beautiful day. I ended up buying an old school flat 5 snap face shield for my open face helmet to keep the bugs off my HUGE smile!
Ok, I really bought it because last ride out I got bit in the arm by a wasp. They don’t have stingers. They have pinchers. And the pinchers got me good simply from the impact of bug into my bare skin arm. My arm swelled up huge and it itched for a week! Don’t want one of those in my helmet….
