Only on the left turns. Still, it is better than it was. Once I got to the stock flasher, I tried it again. It was making a buzzing sound before it would flash. I got a little shock as I was holding it...ouch.

Bulb wattage has to match whats on the relay with the old style relays. Higher wattage=faster flash. I know nothing about new fangled ones though. Do you have bulbs matching the relay & same for left & right side.

They are original bulbs that came with the bike. Original owner had removed turn signals when new. I got them in a box, cleaned em’ up & installed. Bike had 322 original miles when I got it. I can check the bulbs, what wattage should they be?

rsmith56,
The original flasher has to be grounded to work or it will just make a buzzing sound and not flash if you have it in your hand. It will startle you for sure.

Here is a set up i put together that makes the turn signals work much better on these old 6v Yamaha enduros with turn signals. There brighter, flash faster then stock, more consistant, flasher makes a clicking noise simular to the original Yamaha flasher, easier on the battery, pilot light works too.

Also solves the dreaded tial light/brake light dimming issue.

If you use this complete set up you need to do some wire rearrangement in the headlight bucket and at the flasher because of the reverse polarity pilot light. Easy to do and i can explain if needed. But you can use just this flasher with your stock bulbs and it should work great. Much better then any 2 prong electronic flasher i have tried.

Likely a dodgy connection somewhere - I had the same issue on my RD125A.

Try wiggling the bulb in each left side indicator to see if this makes a difference.
