Pull the cylinder and remove the piston then pull up lightly on the rod, if there's any movement up and down then yep your big end bearing is gone. A little side to side is normal.

First thing I would do is pull the mag cover and turn the motor with the flywheel and see if it feels rough. If not, I would pull the clutch cover and access the kick idler gear and have a look at the roller bearing behind it and see if it is still intact.
