Yep i know these motors inside & out but not for a long time i must say. We had a customer who had a V90 & the pressed on gear let go so only had two gears. Being three speed it'd be ok on a 90 if second & top were ok but i know we fixed it so maybe only had 1st & third-top. Pressed on gears was a bit of a downfall at times for yamaha if the engineer at the factory arrived at work with a hangover & we did a few on trail bikes plus i recall a quad yfm200 or 225-250 doing it. Reed inlet on the scoot goes in over the left crank wheel on those scooters. They broke the kickstart shaft on the 90 as had lots of compression & a high geared kick start. The later years became V50 & V80 with the clutch back where it should be on the gearbox main shaft instead of hanging off the crank. Anyway--a lot of useless information. But i did like all those models from the "60's right through.

I just picked up one of these in Washington- where can I find a manual? Worked on plenty of enduros but it’s my first v70. So in love- these are so cool. Almost cooler than our towny!

Not sure if any use but here's a parts view drawing of your model. Says 1969 but is the V70 V50 V90 motor not the earlier rotary valve type. Can expand the pics & all that.
