Yep mine's "70 so must've been planning for it back then to have the stem splined & the locating lug on the frame.

Does anyone have any idea how to adjust that steering damper? I have one on my RT3 and I never took it apart or tried to figure it out. But if it will actually do something I might be inclined to service it.

Fill it up until its full is how i did it. If you want it to damp you don't want it half full. Was a long time ago but had one of mine apart. Here's an Oring Kit. I can't remember what's in there but think it flows through a restrictive hole. or two hole. One of mine was a mess inside with something rubber broken, vane or something. If its in good condition then the heavier oil you use the heavier the damping will be. Any play left or right in the mounting locating bits from straight ahead is annoying though, as to be good you need it instantly moving with the steering.

I bought that kit through DEET and after disassembly and cleaning I assembled it while submerged in oil (no air bubbles that way). I left one of the fill screws out while doing this. I figured that the oil would be pressurized when putting the six screws in due to the large o ring compressing. works like a charm and leak free.
Cheers

I got the O-rings in the mail today, they were from DEET. Hopefully rebuild the stabilizer this weekend.
