carb parts was created by Yamrt3

I'm putting my carb back together from my RT3 and the two little keepers that press onto the top of the posts in the float bowl to keep the two floats from coming off are missing. If I can't get new ones from Yamaha, what else could I use in place of these if anything?

Going back a couple of years , there were repops of those stops available
on Ebay . I can't remember who was selling them offhand , but they were
an Ebay store selling aftermarket bits .
However if you haven't lost or damaged yours , dunking them in hot
water might soften them enough to refit .
If they are missing completely . the carb will function without them installed .

I'll check out ebay. I have one, the other is on the shop floor somewhere. I can not find it. I was told by one of you guys a while back that the best way to find a missing part, is to buy a new one then the old part will show up all of a sudden.

Thanks for the hot water idea, I'll do that with the one I have as an experiment.
Back to the shop.

Great help, thanks. Dan

New Mikuni carbs don't come with them anymore.  They are not required...  just helpful to keep floats from falling out with bowl off carb.

Thanks Mark, I'll assemble it the way it is and not worry about those two pieces. That works for me. Thanks again.
