The 537-16321-00 friction plates are found on the '76 thru '81 YZ125 as well.....

Well awesome, hopefully this will get it sorted and I look forward to the update as I'll probably do the same to mine when the time comes for new plates.

The 6  537-16321-00 friction plates (1976 YZ175 or a 77-83 IT175 ), the extra steel plate and new OEM springs did the trick. No more slipping clutch! The 5 new Ebay friction plates I had originally installed must have been crappy so they're now in the trash can.
Thanks to DARINM, SHYTED, RT325 and WILLLGORD for their input and thanks to JAYB for the ingenious idea to replace the plates with 6 of the  537-16321-00 friction plates (1976 YZ175 or a 77-83 IT175 ) and an extra steel plate.
I did take a nice long spin around the neighborhood today on my CT2. It's been nearly a year now and I finally have a runner!
