CT2 electrical questions was created by Trapper1

I have a CT2 that is missing most of the lights and other electrical components. The previous owner was making it into a "mx" version. It's to far gone for me to try and restore, so I'm continuing with the mx mods. Don't worry, I'll keep all that I take off, in case I want to go back stock later. So, my question is. Can I eliminate all electrical except for the magneto and the coil. And just run the black wire to the coil. And connect a kill button to the black wire. I assume it would operate like my jt.

Thanks
Marc

Correct.  That's exactly all you need to do.

Thanks Mark. I figured so, but sometimes start to over think. Then start second guessing myself. Thanks again

Just leave the other wires coming out of the stator disconnected (and/or insulated so they can't short to ground).

No need to remove them or the lighting coils.  The ATMX had the CT ignition with only the black wire connected for spark...  lighting coils and wires were there, just not used/connected.
