$600 of that $800 would be getting it legally imported into the UK...

With no title, partially disassembled, and not running they go for maybe $200 in the US... twice as much with a good title... mostly because in most states obtaining a new title is a risk and a hassle... plus the way the laws are written in many places, technically if you don't have the title on a vehicle you don't own it. Even if you have a bill of sale, if the seller didn't have the title they technically didn't own it so they had no right to sell it.

Seller often asserts how easy it is to get a replacement title... and it might be in some areas... if it's so easy, why not do it then? There's always a risk it could have been reported stolen even decades ago and if it was, it will usually be confiscated on the spot.

One of my friends here was apparently annoying his neighbors working on restoring a old Chevy late at night this past summer... it was still over 100 F at midnight so way too hot during the day. Visits from the Police ensued... turns out that if you can't produce registration or a title they can confiscate the vehicle in this state... and beyond that the city has an ordinance that storing an inoperable vehicle on your property that's not licensed, insured, and registered is a "nuisance". Luckily they just wanted him to stop banging on fenders at 2 am and annoying the neighbors.

Complete and assembled and running but rough might double the value again to $800 or so.

But these aren't normal times... so who knows.

It does have a subtle dent in the fuel tank and a dent in the oil tank.

Here's a walk around:

So...$500 and nobody gets kicked; reasonable?
