Picking Up A New/Old Bike Tomorrow! was created by mx360guy

Hi all,
Been awhile.

Original owner.

The tank is rusted out but the bike is complete. Cool swing arm. The motor turns he says. Don't know if there is spark.

Nice!  Are those Curnutt shocks with it?  Great shocks if so, don't toss them, they can be rebuilt.

I have a brand new set of points for a DTMX with the internal rotor flywheel magneto.  I think the internal rotor points mag was 1972 though?  Not sure.

Be interesting to know its full history plus frame & engine number when you get it home. We got the first 250 & 360mx in 1970 which had tube swing-arm. Keep us posted.

DO NOT pass on this bike.... Shoot the Air Box- GYT pipe and front fender are well worth $1,500 or more just for these 3 parts alone!

If this bike is restored it will bring big money... I would never sell it once restored- Haha

The value of a 1970 Yamaha DT1 250 MX varies significantly by condition, but good examples are worth around $3,900 to $4,750, with exceptional, museum-quality bikes potentially fetching higher prices. Lower-end or project bikes could be valued between $2,035 and $3,900, and extremely rare or perfectly restored examples could command over $8,000.

Ask the seller for the engine & frame numbers as doesn't add up in my book comparing to what we had. So i'm thinking 'maybe in error' that its a kitted early DT1--square arm & other things-- early rear wheel where the wheel can be removed & sprocket left behind on its carrier. That's something they should have kept using instead of the stupid setup that followed that just flogs out in the cush drive sprocket carrier. Might need to explain to the seller where to find engne & frame numers if you 'do' ask. After all that, & no matter if i'm right or wrong--its still very desirable!!.
