Thanks Schu & Swm for the comments, A couple of outdoor shots. Odd hazy day or phone camera setting off ? Going to redo the pipe. To much sheen for me. I will use a flat black instead of low gloss and see how that looks.

In the past I used flat black hi-temp paint since all the satin's & semi-gloss I tried were too shiny versus original exhaust paint.
Then someone posted pics of a muffler painted with Eastwood Satin Black High Temp 1,400 degree paint and it's great match to my enduro's with original paint mufflers - not shiny. My 2 cents - good luck!
Eastwood Satin Black High Temp 11.75oz Aerosol Spray High Heat And Engine Paint

Thanks Swm,
You just reminded me of something. I was trying to figure out what i used on the 68 DT1 so i went searching my purchases and sure enough it was the Eastwood Satin heat paint. So i ordered a can. Sure has gone up in price! $25.00 back in 2022. Now $34.97 with tax on e-bay thru Eastwood. Free shipping on e-bay.
On a side note there is a restored 1970 DT1 250 on E-bay right now for $8500. I like the looks of his pipe so i asked him what he used. He said he uses regular Rust-oleum flat black paint. Not the heat paint. Says it holds up great doesn't burn off even when he runs the engine. Says it's been on there 5 years. Pretty impressive. Looks great.

Sure is a sweet looking ride you've done there. Kind of jealous of the pearl yellow. I was looking for one in that color and bought a 1973 AT3 125 with 1550 miles to play with instead. Still looking for a decent pearl yellow. 125, 175-ish pre-74. I like the later ones with the engine size on the muffler guard and the flip top gas cap.. Wow! Cheers.

My first bike was a '69 DT1.It was actually my brother's personal bike. He had a Yamaha-Triumph-Bultaco-Vespa dealership in Berkely CA. in the early to mid '60s. I had it shipped to Maine when I went to college there '68-'72.
Still working on the '68 DT1 project. It'll get done this year (I keep telling myself). If I can figure out imgur or the google photo site I'll try to post pics.

Custombolt,
Thanks for the comments on the bike. Yamaha calls the color Candy Orange on this bike. I know it doesn't look orange. At least not compared to the 71 or newer bikes.
Nhsteve,
Imgur is very simple to use. If i can do it anyone can. Once you sign up just click on new post and click and drag your photos into the site. then its just a matter of copy link and paste into your thread here on the Yamaha site. There is 3 different way of doing it. I use the old version but the new version is easy too.
