At-1 running after 5 years was created by Yojimbo

I bought an at-1 about five years ago. It came with a transferable registration and it was running. I joined this site and was learning how to ride and chipping away at various problems the bike had. I posted regarding progress I made including some videos. I can’t find the original thread. Can anyone else find it? Is it possible it was archived?
I’d like to continue the thread.

It looks like it's been archived.  You might send an email to the admin (makotosun1 at gmail) and see if he can/will bring it back

I will continue the narrative of my experience with my at-1 eventually, but before I do, I have a couple things I’m trying to sort out on the bike.

The ignition switch won’t stay on in the second, or “lights on” position. It works fine in the first position, and if I’m careful, I can get it to work in the second position, but it eventually moves and stops working. Could disassembly and cleaning correct this, or does it need to be rebuilt or replaced?

Nothing to lose by dismantling and seeing what's going on. If you've not done this before, take lots of photos as you go, so that you can reassemble correctly!

There's a bumpy circular plate inside the switch that someone may have installed the wrong way, so it isn't acting like a detent to hold the key in position. Or the springs under the contacts are broken or missing, or the spring tab holding the cylinder in place may be broken or bent, This excellent video shows how to dissemble and reassemble the switch.

Took the switch apart, it was packed with crusty old grease. Cleaned, lubed, reassembled, back on the bike. More positive detents, and it hasn’t failed yet. I think I got’er. Thanks for nudge boys
