Shoes are available brand new from Yamaha.

Always best to replace chain and sprockets as a set if worn. Putting a new chain on worn sprockets will quickly ruin a new chain. So it kind of depends on why chain is being replaced. If it's stretched and worn, then do sprockets. If it's only because of something like weathering (rust) then it might be okay to keep sprockets.

BTW, rust is a chain killer. Even a little rust SEVERELY weakens a chain... removing the rust doesn't restore the strength.

I've ridden one bike with stretched chain that I felt - a yamaha Radian 600. This 'sort of' felt like that when I rode it but could also have been low tires or something else. Chain is nice and oily and no rust on bike anywhere really. I'll get it back together with fresh tubes and see how it is. In any case, I dont see any wear on sprockets or indication that chain will come apart.
