Update 4/1/16

I was feeling confident about my deadline to be fully operational by 4/15, until earlier this week. I attempted to give the DT a ceremonious first start with my camera rolling. Only to find out that somewhere over the last 11 months I lost spark. The first phase of the project was to get it running, which I did and she sounded good. I have since reached out to bother DEET, and replaced the ignition source coil, but no luck. I'm going to replace the main coil next, but I'm afraid this will come down to something stupid that I have overlooked. :S I'm going to review the "No Spark" Forums again now!

Clean the points with contact cleaner and strips of uncoated business card. (Sometimes when sitting points get a black coating that needs to be removed to get spark back)

Check the insulating washers are in the correct place on the wire to the points.

If you painted the frame....bare metal to metal contact for the frame to engine is needed to have a good ground.

first thing I suspect is dirty points but if the ground to the engine and coil is bad it will not spark. might unplug or bypass the ignition switch and see if spark returns too. it will help isolate a potential problem.

I never pulled the motor, just touched up the frame. Thanks for the input!

Mark, you are the winner! All the screwing around I did double checking everything, and I cleaned the points with paper 2 more times and away she went! Thanks!
