that is one of the first things I checked, the stator itself, the coil and the whole engine showed good ground from a stud on the frame to the fuel tank. thanks for the suggestion! everyone here is welcome to post input! discussion is one of my favorite things with fellow Enduroholics!

Have you checked the ground wire from the key and kill switch?

there is no ignition switch on this bike, everything is hard wired.
funny thing is I used this same Magneto on the DT360 engine when I test ran it and it worked fine.
I could not find the original DT360 flywheel and I am using the DT400 flywheel. I am wondering if that may have something to do with it.
I used the DT360A flywheel with the DT360A stator and it worked great. I wish I can find that flywheel..
I had been wondering if I should unsolder the Pulsar and install it on the DT400 stator that has the broken pulsar. I need to test my CDI boxes as well.

I got one of these ordered today.
www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/systems/7238/7238dcmain.htm
once I get it in hand, there will be a update on getting this installed then we will see how it goes. I need to order a wiring harness and I plan to get that in August.

I should have it Monday the 6th if UPS keeps their scheduled time. it is coming from Germany very fast and I am impressed!
I ordered it on the 3rd and it arriving at my house on the 6th is indeed very impressive. they even gave me a reseller's discount which knocked the price down a good bit. instead of 380.00 dollars at which it would had cost,it knocked the price down to 320.00 shipped.
the Euro slipping against the dollar helped too! I prayed for it and God Indeed made it happen!
this helped immensely as I also got a very hard to find trip knob for the speedometer and a few small odds and ends I needed.
I also lined up a set of turn signals for this project but I will not be able to pay for them until August.
I hope to have enough money left over to get a wiring harness and perhaps the LH switch assembly and a 12 volt headlight to test it all with.
Power Dynamo also sells a battery eliminator kit for their ignition system and I plan to try that instead of locating a 12 volt battery that will fit in a stock manner like the original 6 volt battery did.
of course after hearing it run,I plan to strip down the frame and repaint the frame and do some detail work. this project is shaping up,not very fast but it is shaping up pretty good.
I plan to take a video of the first startup and post it here!

on Power Dynamo's customer service,it is very good and very easy to deal with. if their ignition system is very good too then I will have no problem recommending them very highly! it is a little expensive but you do get what you pay for!
this is the kit I am getting here on this link. www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/systems/7238/7238dcmain.htm

I got the Power Dynamo ignition today. pretty impressive it showed up in 4 days like it did from Berlin Germany to NW Arkansas.
here is some pics of the new ignition system. much of it was made in the Czech Republic also known as Czechoslovakia!

the flywheel has no key way so it relies on a press fit to stay put. I hope the crankshaft taper matches perfectly so I would not have a slipping flywheel.

it comes with a new flywheel hold down nut.

here is a pic of the flywheel, the reason a regular 27 mm LH thread flywheel puller will not work is because the new flywheel has 27 mm RH threads.

the DC kit I ordered comes with a flywheel puller.
This image is hidden for guests.
the jack bolt has burs in the threads,it will only thread into the puller so far before it begins to bind.
I need to dress the threads before it can be used, likely it was damaged during the shipping and handling.

the voltage regulator that comes with this kit.

this is the ignition coil. I will need to make a bracket for it to go in the stock location.

Curious if the flywheel is lighter than stock. Looks to be high quality parts.
