Nice work! That's about the cleanest installation I've ever seen!

You have some nice paint on the frame... make sure the case of the regulator is grounded solidly to the frame or it won't work.

Living in a wet area, one thing you could do rather than sanding frame to bare metal is make a jumper wire from a regulator mount bolt to the harness ground point which is usually near or at the ignition coil.

Thanks Mark, I just popped into the garage with my meter to check and it is grounded.
I thought it would be as I tapped out the holes before putting on the coil, but I hadn't actually confirmed it with a meter until now.
I need to keep an eye out for two more regulators for the other bikes.
Going back to the piston rings, I checked the end gap on the new set and it's 0.3mm which follows what you said.
I re-checked both originals and they are actually 0.35mm, but given how they feel in the bore I think I will use them and not worry too much about the end gap dimension.
I haven't looked at the CT1-B top end yet so it would be nice to keep the new rings in case they're needed on that bike.

Top end reinstalled and no leaks
Used the copper gasket spray as belt and braces.
Still waiting on the holder grommet for the oil pipes and I still have the exhaust to paint.

Checked clutch springs and plates for wear today, as far as I can tell it's all good.

My youngest arrived home from school to see me with the blow torch and silencer in hand.
He asked me what I was doing and I replied "smoking my pipe", one of the very few dad jokes he actually laughed at

She's alive!

Finally the grommet arrived this morning and bike is back together.
It's the first time I've had it running, fired up and rides pretty nice.
Few more bits to finish off, mirrors and the flasher relay isn't flashing, but nearly there and I finally got to have a ride on it.
I really pleased with the transformation and I love the colour, had plenty of people staring at it.

Apart from a bit of tweaking with the carb, I think she's done.
Had a short ride this morning in the sunshine to pick up a couple of work bits, so took the scenic route.
Not a show winner, but I'm pleased with my efforts.
Looking forward to the summer and a planned few days ride with my mate, me on the C and him on my B.
