Few more progress pics.
Couldn't resist the temptation to see how it would look with the tank and seat on.
I did make a couple of mistakes this week, first was trying to fit the oil tank sight glass and pushing too far in
Had to put it down to experience, replacement arriving tomorrow. I'll use a small disc of ply to press it in and be more careful unless anyone has a better method.
Second mistake was flattening a run in the clear coat on the taillight I went through to bare metal.
I repainted it and have now fitted it.
We all make mistakes, there's no shame in that, that's not to say I wasn't cheesed off on both occasions.

Ford moon dust silver after i found a spot on match with a Rover colour but i can't get anymore.
Yes that spray max is good gear and well worth the extra.
The sight glass. Rub the first grip ring down a little but not completely. A little smear of plumbers grease on the tank aperture and two thumbs pressure . Pops right in.
Depends how big your hands are though.

Dave I stumbled across your HT1 restoration whilst looking for shocks and went through the thread. You certainly did a job to be very proud of there, looks absolutely amazing.
Morgan what are you looking for? I picked up some parts from the US via ebay and had a buddy of mine who's living in Illinois forward them to me.
I've found a few other missing parts here on ebay and some from Yambits.
I've also found folks on the forum are also very helpful, Gr8uncleal sold me some rear indicator lenses for my RT1 for a beyond reasonable price.

If you need paint don't go to Dream machine. Bunch of proper pricks living off a past reputation. Wouldnt trust them with a sweeping brush never mind a paint brush.

Dave, the dent removal worked a treat, tiny bit of filler required.
Yes, picked up the CT1-B a couple of weeks ago, it's in pretty good original condition.
I think I'll keep it as a survivor and ride as is.
Fitted new tyres at the weekend, 4.00 18 rear and 3.50 18 front, a little chunkier than the original but I like it.
How's yours coming along?

T-Bone runs a 3.50 up front. Says its better in the dirt/bumps. He loves it !

Slow progress (work, golf and three other bikes) on the CT1-C, but the CT1-B now has a working clutch and is running sweet.
I had a problem where it became difficult to start and when I checked the spark it was weak (it had been brilliant).
After a lot of faffing about it turned out to be the bullet connector from the stator to the loom wasn't pushed fully in, a good lesson to check the basics.
Anyway back to the CT1-C, the handlebars that came with it were clearly wrong and too shallow.
I found some online with the correct dimensions (it help's to have another bike to compare), confirmed dimensions with the seller and they arrived totally different to the dimensions stated, sent them back for a full refund.
Found another seller, sent him the dimensions which he confirmed, received them and wrong again! sent them back for another full refund.
Third time lucky, slightly wider at the mounting but the seller gave me the dimensions of his handlebars before I ordered them and I was happy how close they were.
Lots of polishing and plating of bolts and nuts, particularly happy with the handlebar mounting bolts.
Mother's was great on the throttle and the clutch and brake mounts, these are original with new levers.
Motodad24 supplied new mounting bolts as I was missing the brake pivot bolt which takes the switch.
He very kindly threw in some screws for the exhaust heat shields on my other bikes, as I ordered a few bits for the CT1-B including white rubbers, what a nice chap.
I refurbished the indicators, Evaporust is amazing and replaced the grommet on each. The lenses are temporary until I get the originals (Gr8uncleal has told me CMSNL have them).
I think I'll order a cable set from KDI although I am balking at the postage.
