2-cycle fuel oil selection was created by 2-smoker

Can anyone recommend a good non-synthetic 2-cycle oil for me to use in my 1976 MR250 Elsinore that I am getting ready to stoke up after a restoration?  I have used Amsoil Dominator synthetic 2-cycle on others in the past, but because it doesn't 'burn off' you get the messy black goo at any exhaust joint.  And since we're at it - what is the correct mix ratio to use for it in my application?  Thanks in advance for any help & advice on this.

Is the oil injection system intact on the HONDA MR 250?

Have you already started the bike and seen smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe? Was it excessive?

Did you recently purchase the bike and just want the best lubrication for the top end?

I always recommend YAMA LUBE 2S for the Injection System reservoir.

I also recommend YAMA LUBE 2R if the pump is disconnected, disabled, unsure if it functions properly and the mixture of fuel to oil is 32/1 or exactly 4 ounces of oil to exactly 1 gallon of 92 octane pump gas.

Oil threads normally start a Riot on the Internet and sometimes it just warrants extra attention.

IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE ON THE MT - MR 250:

The biggest headache with this motorcycle is the countershaft sprocket wears out fairly quickly and wobbles. Sometimes, not always the cheap owner who owns a portable welder - welds the retaining nut making a correct repair of splitting the center cases double the work.
The counter shaft sprocket resides behind the shfter on the left under the cover.

Let’s hope yours was properly done or doesn’t wobble.

Well, this is the Honda MR250 (1976 on year only) which doesn't have an 'oil injection' system like the Yammy DT1s so it takes a pre-mix. I don't know what mix was in it when I got it earlier this year but there was quite a bit of smoke coming from it. It was running good so I've left the engine alone but am finishing the rest of the 're-freshing/restoration' with just a carb go-through. I was planning to go with a 32:1 ratio using some non-synthetic and see how that goes. (It's interesting to note the original owner's manual says to go with 20:1 with a '2-stroke or high-grade 40wt oil') I don't know the difference between the Yamalube 2S vs.2R but it sounds like the 2R would be good candidate for this Honda Elsinore.

YAMA LUBE 2R is Yamaha’s Racing (R) race premium grade.

ignore 20 / 1 40 weight oil that pertains to 1970 before they figured things out..

I have a rare to find in the USA Honda CRM250AR street legal two stroke...  They are sensitive to oil and the power valve is susceptible to gumming up when using synthetics or most regular oils.  The very best "clean" oil I've found is made by Legend Performance.  I use it in all my bikes now.  Non-synthetic.  Burns clean.   legendperformance.com/
