Bassani help was created by scottamann

I disassembled my Bassani expansion chamber last year to paint it and re-pack the baffles.
After a year; I cannot remember the order and direction the internal baffles are inserted. I have searched the interweb and cannot find any information on the subject.
I have a long and a short baffle.
The long baffle is essentially the same on both ends while the short baffle has a solid piece on one end.
I think the long baffle goes in first and then the short one with the solid piece towards the exit then the spring, end cap and circlip.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Scott

So...
I contacted Bassani directly and they said that all of the old Bassani expansion chamber "stuff" was sold to an individual in Montana in the mid nineties.
If anyone out there has a Bassani and wouldn't mind removing the circlip and extracting the baffles for a quick pic; I would appreciate it.
Thank you
Scott

I have a AT/CT Bassani but the description of what you have does not sound like the same thing.

If you post pictures some of the experts like EN, DEET, Scootern29, RT325, etc might be able to help... someone on here will hopefully know if you show them what you are working with.

Interesting. My Bassani only has the "short" insert.

Looking at yours I don't think it would make any difference what order you install them as long they fit okay? Hopefully someone else has experience with a Basanni with two inserts.

I would agree with you but, there is an interior cone that the first baffle needs to mate up with. That is why I am thinking the short (larger diameter inner tube) baffle would go first. I have left a voicemail with Mr. Darryl Bassani; maybe he will call with some info.
Thanks,
Scott

I've only seen one insert in the Bassani pipes. From memory (which is fuzzy) I think the spring goes against the end cap.

Scott,

I had one on my RT-3 for a bit, and it only had one insert. The spring was against the cone, and I added a spark arrestor to it as well. It was a good pipe, but the Sleeper Pipe that Dave Meis made for me worked better (Thank you, thank you, thank you!), and it looks stock.
