Cylinder stud installation - dry, lubrication or loctite? was created by Bdee
I didn't find anything in the service manuals and searching the web did not provide definitive guidance.
What do people do here? Mine is a CT3 if it matters.
grazie mille

Personally I just lube things like that & screw right home. Just curious as to why you removed those long-ish studs out of the case on the ct3.

Thanks!.
I was lead to believe that it would be good maintenance to replace them with new ones. "How 2 Wrench" youtube videos, specifically.

I had a nightmare time with my 360 as ended up with cases that had no studs fitted.
Not sure how that came about but were cases i got with a lot of old parts.
So in the process of removing my old ones to transfer over i think it was two that broke off flush in the case.
Not even sure they were Loctite'd in but probably were, & couldn't get enough heat into around it with what i had to heat with.
Mine were 10mm & yours are 8mm by memory.

Mine came out easily. The modern replacements are the same dimensions but they are flat at both ends and the threaded sections have different lengths.

Ok, yep i'd expect top end to be rounded as original.
Are they genuine originals.
Bottom end normally are flat & the thread rolled fractionally tighter so it's a really snug fit in the alloy.
Hope she's all good.
