Crank seals and carb O-rings was created by Fozzy500
Hi
Just started work on my CT1C. First thing I noticed was the exhaust pipe was 'full' of oil and so was the crank case. Then found the cylinder base gasket was fitted back to front so now I'm worried about the rest!...... Anyway I'd like to ask about crank seal fitting - should the seals be pushed in as far as they will go or just till they are flush with the flange on the casting? I ask because the mag side seal seems to be in a long way and the clutch side seal isn't in at all! (See pics).
Also is the O-ring that goes on the bottom of the main tube of the CT1C carb the same part as used in the CT3 carb? I ask because Yambits UK sell the CT3 carb part but not the CT1C carb part, so I'm thinking they may be different. I have not been able to get a cross reference.
Thanks for any comments...

Looking at an early (ie pre computerised) parts list for the CT1C, I would say not the same carb 'O' ring.
Yamaha still supply this new, so buy via your local dealer.

Just a minor fyi picture posting point, and that is if the BB function appears alongside an image on your Imgur account then, if you press the copy button alongside it and paste that in your post, then the images will actually appear on that post once you've completed it. From what I've read here, this option isn't available on all devices.

Not uncommon to find what you did. Autolube oil can seep past oil pump check valve over a long period of storage and fills crankcase with oil.
Trying to kick it over with crankcase full often forces seal out of case from the hydraulic pressure... and forces oil into pipe.
Seals should be flush. It appears you may have groove in crank on ignition side and someone may have tried to push seal in to compensate?
Industry standard size -007 o-ring should be correct, you might try getting one and comparing. Much cheaper.

MarkT good to know. Thanks very much. I might even have some of those o-rings but not sure of their fuel resistance...
Cheers
