I was having the same problem on my CT3  and replaced the o ring on the nozzle - used a 007 from O'Reilys for $.99 and cleans out the small holes with a fine drill bit and that fixed the problem.

That's the Main Nozzle. The Main Jet sits on the end of a banjo bolt that sits in the float bowl. Have a look at the CT2 carb parts diagram on CMSNL (for some reason the diagram for the CT3 is missing from that site). Partzilla will show the same diagrams.

Tinkering on these old bikes isn't too hard to do. But, having the expertise of the fine folks on here to guide along on yer quest is priceless..

Ok that's the one i meant when you came back with needle jet--which is what i'd call [it if it's official name wasn't jet setter]. No5 in the link. So question 'is', what Oring did you replace when you said needle jet.

Well ok i give in--it's called nozzle main No4 [needle jet to me lol as slide needle works in it metered at the top few mm of it. Anyway, hope you have a cure.
