Speaking of ignition I got this nice Key switch in a box of parts with a recent DT1 purchase. Looks like it might go with a 72 or later model...maybe a street version. I’ll be looking to trade it for something for this DT1. Definitely need a handle switch a headlight bucket and a tail light Housing. Key number is 414.

I don’t see that it has been mentioned but simplest way is to get the lock code off the face of the lock…probably 4 digits…stamped on the face of all the locks on the bike then go to EBay and search for “Yamaha key (your code)”. I’ve had great success with getting keys for all my bikes.

True getting the number code off of one of the locks (assuming they are all original or keyed alike) is essential. That # and the year, make and model given to a locksmith that has access to motorcycle codes, will ensure you a key that works. onlinemotorcyclekeys asks that on the order form. I have no affiliation with them, they are just who I order my keys from. I had taken a lock in to a locksmith for him to dechiper and the bill was around $40.00 for two keys. Last time I did that.
