Hey Dave !
You may have already seen this, pretty cool little 250... When you are done, you can both have both dirt and street YDS runners for your collection.

One of the key items I have been searching for are shouldered aluminum wheels for the Ascot....
I finally got all the parts together and yesterday I started building the wheels.

The hubs have been polished....new wheel bearings and the centers painted.

As Deet has mentioned it is critical the rims are drilled properly or the type of hub you are using.
I went with chrome spokes and chrome nipples...with a 1.85 X 18 36 hole front and rear..
as they closely match the Ascot original aluminum wheels

These wheels should really pop with large hubs and shiny new rims and spokes

I was fortunate to have a spare front hub so I could leave original wheel intact to make sure I laced the wheels 100% correctly.

Next will be to decide on tires As you can see the photo above of Tom White's Ascot
4.00 X 18 tires look quite large?
I am leaning towards Dunlop 4.00X 18 D803 trials tire front and rear.

Get a 1964 YDS250 Yamaha and you will get a pretty girl ! They could not advertise it if it wasn't true, right ??

When I was dating my future wife, all I had was a French moped

28 years later, I still have a French moped. Lets not go there.
