John Penton was created by Sneezles61

I just saw a 10 minute documentary on the passing of him.
I saw my first Green Penton mid 70’s. What a bike it was! I wonder if it’s still at Larson Cycle? A road trip is needed.

RIP

I'm not too up on the history of Penton but a friend had one with the Sachs 125 engine.  Had a "neutral" between every gear!  LOL

I'm pretty sure Penton put his name on and imported what eventually became a brand called "KTM".

I first met Mr Penton….thats what you did when speaking to your elders 65 years ago. I was 14 and used to hang out at a little family owned bike shop in Baltimore
the place was Motor sports center in Baltimore
Maryland. I remember they were a Penton dealer and John came by the dealer to do whatever buisness they …fast forward a whole life. I would get to meet him again at the vintage motorcycle days at Mid Ohio. I told John the motor sport center story and he must’ve heard many a similar story from kids that were into dirt bikes back in the 70’s
it was always a privilege to sit with John and listen to John…,be John
he will be missed by so many people
thank you John Penton RIP

Yes, KTM was a builder for Penton… Which they later changed…. Did you notice the kick start on the left hand side of the engine?
