appreciate the input, yes bar width can be personal. I have always played with bar length on my Bikes I use for enduro competition.
was just hoping to get some idea ( close as possible) as to what these bikes may have had for bars straight from the factory. Just wanting to get this bike as close to original as possible.
thx

None of my RT3s have the original bars. I have a '73 DT3 original, unrestored. The widest measurement I come up with is 31" without the grips.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

from the service manual, 74 360. Overall reported width 34.3" at lever ends on handlebars. That is not the same bike, but is close. based on some relative pixel measurements of this particular bike:
From manual (IF to scale):
pullback bend : 19.3"
crossbar: 17.3"

I remember them coming with very wide bars and many people cutting them down a little. But my memory could be flawed.

Sneezles,
Sometimes someone will post the same or very similar question over and over in new posts within a short time... it can get very confusing to keep track of. Not sure why they just don't add to the first thread they started which bumps the topic to the top of the unread posts for everyone?
I figured out how to combine threads so when I see it, I will try to combine the posts... 1971DT250's post pointed this out so I combined it.
On one forum I belong to they will actually ban you for asking the same question multiple times in new posts... I doubt that will ever happen here but combining threads should help keep the confusion down... I will delete 1971DT250's post with the link back to this one with many thanks to him for the heads up!

Wasn’t wanting to ruffle any feathers, more of a nudge to read/search before firing off questions.

You didn't ruffle feathers... thanks for bringing attention to the topic!

The sad part is there is SO MUCH knowledge and info here that the exact answer may be here or was here someplace. Just nearly impossible to find and to even attempt you generally need to wade through literally hundreds of posts.
The other forum I mentioned is for owners of an RV brand that's now out of business and is something like 30 years old with probably 4 or 5 moderators that monitor posts. They run a tight ship. But I do have to say they don't have (or allow) the same exact questions asked and answered over and over and over like we do here... you can actually do a search there and will probably find your answer in a few seconds... And the members and moderators do a great job of combining even new questions into older threads so the answers are all in one place.
It is a smaller forum with less posting than here but it is nice they way they have been able to manage it.
Nothing much will change here I'm sure but combining recent duplicate questions from the same person might help a little?
