Back out of the hospital, Been a long time.
I have a 1972 AT2, The wiring was totally destroyed when I got it as a basket case.
It looks nice, paint in good shape good chrome on wheels, very little corrosion.
My problem is I cant find a correct wiring diagram. All of the diagrams are wrong.
They do not show it having a speedometer and tachometer, they show the key switch    
under the front of they gas tank, not on the upper triple clamp in front of the handlebar
mount, with a three wire connecter. Last year I was able to find it on this site, but of
course the pictures wont come up right now. If anyone knows where I could buy a
correct diagram I would appreciate it.

But it does say AT2 AT3 so i wonder if they just draw it like that to make it easier to see.
Is yours battery ignition with electric start, not magneto ignition.

First I want to thank all of you who read and or responded to my post.
I did find the correct schematic for my bike. Unfortunately I do not
remember how I found it ? The only thing that the pdf has written on it
is Yamaha AT3 Wiring Schematic

Glad you found it.  Wiring diagrams for some models are pretty terrible.  You can always ask specific questions as many of us here have the basic Yamaha wiring pretty much memorized.
