oil pump hose clamps--clips was created by maxx2395

HI Everyone
Has anyone attatched the feed line for the oil pump and used
the clamps / clips part number 214-13164-00 / 9048802033,
I am trying to figure out how to use them, do I crimp them ?
Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve replaced the hose on a couple of my bikes and reused the clips.
I slid them down the original hose then removed the hose and slid the clip off.
Refitting is the reverse.
They aren’t crimped.

They are just spring steel and slide them on like Pete-RT1 suggests. I've used a small pick or finger nail to get them started when removing them.

I found that it helps if you slip a fingernail under the edge and try to gently unwind it while pushing it off or on.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

As an aside, original parts were black, but the ones sold by Yamaha now are plated in something silver - nickel, zinc maybe. This might be important for some folks.

these clamps are terrific when used with the yamaha hose which is pretty cheap on Partzilla. I found it helpful to put a drop of oil on hose where clamp will sit and to apply a bit of tension to hose which makes clamp slide over easier without risk of nicking hose
