Here's a video showing aircraft timing tool and analog meter methods of determining points opening... just shows the beep/light with aircraft tool and the needle swing with meter.
Link to inexpensive analog meter with Rx1 scale if you want to go that route... disclaimer, I have an old Simpson meter (see video) and haven't tried that ebay meter but every analog ohmmeter with Rx1 scale I've ever used has worked.

I just ordered the same buzz box as the video from Amazon. It comes in Wednesday, I’ll let you know how it goes. I appreciate the help Mark

Just wanted to thank you guys for your help. The buzz box worked great and the timing is set at 2.0mm BTDC and the breaker contacts open to .014 (but who cares about that) haha It runs mint! No backfires! The only thing the bike needs now is an exhaust baffle because it’s a bit loud. Thanks again!

Congrats!
P.S. 2mm BTDC? Thought spec was 1.8mm? Memory might be slipping.

Now children, let's not argue about 8thou of piston travel difference [is that right?] untill it melts down!!. Mind you at that rate the point would be at 12thou to get it spot on. Guessing of course. Have a good day.
