I have always wedged a penny between the primary gear and the cog on the basket.

+1 on the Motion Pro tool for holding inner clutch hub..
I would never use any tool to hold the outer hub... use the gear jam method mentioned above and in the manual.

Might just mean hub to undo the center nut. Rattle gun & hold it with a glove & she'll spin off easy. In gear & brake hard on might do it but not a good idea. Could leave all the plates in without the pressure plate & just put hard finger pressure on the plates would hold it for a rattle gun.
